I though it would be nice to see what everyone is riding.

Both good looking bikes, and a nice KLR in the back there too...

The KLX's look like an awesome bike, one question, did it come with no chain guard or did you remove it?

As far as this category of bike, I'm riding my Lifan 200 GY 6, though I've got it setup for street use with a hard trunk, and street tires...

I did come with a chainguard. I removed it; got in the way during chain maintenance.

I think the GY6 is quite a step up from the GY2. The full frame under the engine is very reassuring, and probably less tricky during engine installations. The engines look small, but weigh a tonne when you're trying to wrangle them into a frame.

The guy who owns that KLR probably puts on 20K+ a year in mileage. They're probably the best bang-for-your-buck in the dual-sport segment.

The full frame is nice, and so is the counter balanced engine, though I think most likely they all come with that motor now... As far as the gy2 goes, I always preferred the look of it over the gy5...

I like the axle adjustment setup on the KLX, it would be nice on the Lifan, I know some Chinese bikes have that sort of setup, but I don't think we'll see it on a Lifan right away (not in North America anyways, I know they have some models with it).

I agree about the KLR, they really do seem like a great deal... The new ones look nice too, but the older ones like the one pictured above looks more rugged.... I don't know how sturdy the plastic is on the new KLR's?

Thanks!

I'll post a ride vid here, I did'nt want to do it at CRiders because I felt it would be out of place and against the what the site truly stands for.

I'm sure Frostbite wouldn't have minded, if it was in the right section ;) You can start a new topic for your DR review and video and so on if you want, and if you want to embed the video like I did above, use the youtube button above the post box and past the video url (or uri or whatever) between the tags.
