My 74 CB450 Bobber

Postby HenryinVa on Fri Mar 27, 2009 2:45 am

Hi all!
Just joined the forum and figured I'd say hello and show the before and after of my current build, that I am just about finished building. Let me know what ya'll think, one way, or the other! (I've got some pretty thick skin, so have at it!)

LOL, Well, I built it to be a bar hopper. The spring seat gives ya a little cushion, but if you rode it for an hour or two, you'd be limping! Definitely an around town, short hop, go to Hooters and cruise Main street bike! BUT the biggest thrill I get out of it is, my 500 buck bike gets more looks than my buddies 14K Harley, which just burns him up!

Lots of work there. I think it looks great. You built it for a particular purpose and it looks like it should serve you well.

Is that all you've got into it? It does look good and should sever the purpose well... :)

Yeah, thats all the money I've got in it. I work in a machine shop so I made all the components that are more or less on it. I'd be afraid to add up all the hours I have in it though!
I made the rear axle plates, cut, bent and welded the rear hardtail, battery tray, forward controls and linkages, coil holders, chain gaurd, handle bar risers, speedo risers, seat mounting bracket, fake oil tank/electric compartment, fuel manifold, kickstand, liscense plate brake light bracket, exhaust brackets and rear pipes and painted it, wired it and am riding the heck out of it.

I had so much fun doing this bike, I've got a '78 Suzuki GS750 I'm getting ready to build now!
It'll be allong the same lines as this bike. A lot longer, lower and setting it up with a set of inverted forks. Kind of a bobber/drag bike look I think.....Traded a junk car I had for it, so low buck build is off to a good start!

NICE, A motor a frame and not much else, I like it. Good work...And You could sell it for way more than what's into it.
